What is Lassi? 

With limitless flavor profiles from sweet to salty, refreshing, cooling yogurt-based lassis are popular year-round in India and beyond. Originating from the Punjab region around 1000 BC, the blended drink is celebrated for its Ayurvedic soothing properties, energizing while calming for the digestive system and the mind. Being yogurt-based, the beloved beverage is naturally a powerhouse of probiotics, bolstering gut health, digestion and immunity. Yogurt is also rich in essential nutrients like calcium and protein.

As well as offering a delicious, caffeine-free alternative to your go-to espresso, our ORGANIC INDIA Spiced Turmeric Latte mix pairs beautifully with plant-based yogurt for golden milk lassi magic. Just the right mixture of earthy warmth of turmeric, known for its antioxidant properties, plus warming Cinnamon, Ginger and Cardamom deliver perfectly balanced spicy notes. 

We’ve included several optional ingredients in this simple recipe. The truth is, with our ORGANIC INDIA Spiced Turmeric Latte mix and your favorite plain or vanilla yogurt, you can’t go wrong! We like to add a little unsweetened plant milk for pourability, but feel free to leave out or add to reach the consistency for you. 

For sweetness, we’ve included half a banana (sliced and frozen) as well as one Medjool date, but feel free to omit the date, potentially including a whole banana versus a half instead. You can also add ice or omit. However you blend, it only takes a minute for a holistic experience that brings on the glow from the inside out.

Spiced Turmeric Lassi 

Serves 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup unsweetened plain or vanilla plantbased coconut yogurt 
  • 1 banana (Optionally cut into chunks and frozen) 
  • 2 Teaspoons ORGANIC INDIA Turmeric Spiced Latte powder 1
  • 1 pitted Medjool date (optional) 
  • 2-3 ice cubes (optional) 
  • Additional Turmeric Latte powder or Ceylon Cinnamon to sprinkle for topping, optional 

Method: 

  1. Add all ingredients to a high powered blender and blend until smooth. 
  2. Top with optional garnish and enjoy!
